Introducing Our 2017 AIDS Awalk Atlanta & 5K Run Ambassadors
Park Cannon,House Representative – District 58
Elected to the GA State House of Representatives in 2016, Park Cannon became the third openly queer member and the youngest queer woman of color to be elected to the Georgia House. A native Georgian, she grew up in Albany and is happy to represent all of Georgia. Since her election, she has advocated for HIV/AIDS awareness, women’s health issues, and HIV criminalization law reform.
In 2017, she actively fought for Georgia House Bill 454, a measure that would require that information about PrEP and PEP be shared with a client if they received an HIV negative test result. We are thrilled to have her serve as a 2017 Ambassador for AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run.
