Our Time Is Now benefitting Positive Impact Health Centers
When is the last time you walked? If you are like me it has been a few years and the need for AIDS Walk Atlanta still exists. Atlanta ranks 5th among metro areas when comparing new HIV cases with a rate of 25.8 new diagnoses for every 100,000 residents. That's more than twice the national rate of 12.3. The lack of affordable health care and leadership from our elected officials does not bode well for our future.
My goal is to field a team of 25 to “Pack the Park with HOPE” on Sunday, October 22nd. The money raised from this team will benefit Positive Impact Health Centers and will support their mission of providing HIV specialty care and support services, behavioral health including substance abuse treatment, HIV testing and prevention services.
Let's Walk Again to make a difference for those infected with, or affected by, HIV/AIDS right here in Atlanta. Sadly stigma associated with HIV/AIDS keeps too many from seeking the testing, prevention and treatment services, and support they need. The money raised from the walk helps provide a means to get testing and care for those who need it most.
I look forward to seeing you on the 22nd.
