AID Atlanta, Inc., founded in 1982, began as a grassroots organization with a small group of friends who, in response to news about the early days of the National HIV/AIDS epidemic first reported in New York and San Francisco. These friends went into action educating gay men in Greater Atlanta area about preventing new infections and assisting with medical care.
35 years later, AID Atlanta, Inc. is still performing these life-saving and prevention programs today. AID Atlanta is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) public organization that provides HIV testing, pre- and post-test counseling and prevention education services, as well as integral linkage services to high risk HIV negative and HIV positive individuals living in Greater Atlanta, Georgia.
AID Atlanta provides HIV care, general medical services, and has full-service, medical clinic pharmacies in our Midtown and Newnan Clinics. The Midtown location is the primary location frequented by the target population who access HIV prevention services such as HIV and STD testing and linkage to medical care. The second location is located in Newnan, Georgia and serves individuals living in Clayton, Fayette, and Henry counties. Both locations have pharmacies in their clinic space, and will never refuse service to anyone just because of their inability to pay.
