AIDS Walk Atlanta 2017 Team Craig and Michael
Welcome to our personal web page for the 2017 AIDS Walk Atlanta! As many of you know we have lost a team member to Xavier University so it is just Michael and Craig on the 2017 AWA family team. Cooper headed to Xavier on August 20 and will not be home until Christmas so he will miss being a part of this annual fundraising event this year.
Most of you already know that we walk each year for the AIDS Service Organization, Positive Impact (now Positive Impact Health Centers), which has been in existence since 1993. In their first year, Positive Impact provided 135 clients affected by HIV/AIDS with free mental health services. Last year, Positive Impact Health Centers continued to serve OVER 5,000 clients by providing culturally competent mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment and risk reduction services (to name a few) to the HIV/AIDS affected community....free of charge. As you can see, the need for what Positive Impact Health Centers does each year has grown tremendously and as a non-for-profit agency, supporters like you are crucial to the success of the programs at PHIC. In addition, over 93 cents of each dollar you donate supports direct client services, which speaks volumes about how your contribution is invested! This will be the third year of operation since Positive Impact and AID Gwinnett merged to form Positive Health Impact Centers. Previously, AID Gwinnett was a leader in HIV specialty primary care and Positive Impact was a pioneer in behavioral health treatment. Now, Positive Impact Health Centers offers full services to clients at both locations (Duluth and Midtown).
